I Am Crookston
Hi. My name is Manpreet Singh. I'm from Punjab, a northern state of India. I'm majoring in IT, minor in Sport, and then I'm also part of cross country team. I also used to be a presser here, and he told me everything about UMC, and really like caught my eye and then I went online search for UMC. And then the thing that stood out was like the small campus like close knit atmosphere, where like faculty start to get to know each other, and I love being here.
The cross country program is fairly new, it just started last year, they really push you to the limit. Like maybe if you run by yourself, you don't feel that competitiveness, like but when you're there, and you see other people competing, really bring the best out of you. And I really had a great time last season. The favorite thing about my major is like I'm getting a first hand experience of IT by working on campus because we have like a computer Help Desk. And then best part is like we get laptops, so it's really helped me like get through my courses. I feel like UMC is like a place of opportunities. I became part of the soccer club and then I was part of the multi International Club. Then I became a senator for international relations. And then the following year, I became a student senator consultative representative. And then I work in the Wellness Center. And also I'm a RA for res life. And I just like I love being busy, love, like having all those people around me. It's just almost fun to work here. My name is Manpreet and I am Crookston.
